Saves everyone the hassle of going through the process. Time, money etc otherwise every single person would plead not guilty even if they have video footage of them shooting someone just to chance their arm in case somehow get away with it.

Not great that guilty people get reduced sentence but if means get through more cases quicker and put people say quicker then means justify it I guess
Surely justice should take precedence over the convenience of the courts?

Don’t disagree but unfortunately the fact people have to wait 6 months if not more before a court date just shows the backlog and better to get things moving quicker if they can.

I understand the problem, I just don't think it's the correct solution.
I’m no expert, but I think I'd prefer the inquisitorial system over the adversarial one.
Trying to get someone punished for something they might not have done, or trying to get someone off when you're fairly sure they're guilty are both immoral positions, in my view.
The courts should be working to find the truth, and justice shouldn't be dependent on the argumentation skills of one side over the other.

Well, the punishment is a range rather than set so the bigger ****s can be more severely punished regardless of plea. Just means they won't get the full force.

I don't think punishments are severe enough in this country though. They're supposed to be a deterrent but most see it is a holiday home nowadays.

are you sure you're not French ?

it will be either
a) locked himself out again
b) really busy at work
c) irritated BRB once too often

Or... All the above.

I changed my password because of the silly politics going on in the US right now to make my account more secure.

I must have typed something in wrong because it locked me out.

I didn't try too hard getting back in though because I AM really busy at work and was planning on taking a break .. and still am... You won't see me much for a few weeks more.

With the forum update the emails are working again so was able to validate an old account I created back in 2014. The account I had been using is lost because I don't have access to that email account anymore. Put in a request to change my user name, but it appears it has to be approved now, so don't know how long that will be before noticed... So I'm FluffyBunny for now... Lol
