I bought a running top rather than a hiking top too, much lighter and thinner. Quint be too cold at this time of year so really depends on personal preference
Don't wear the other socks.. .if you bought even cheap hiking socks they are designed to be wickable and reduce chance of blisters... adding socks that aren't designed to do it will negate that... like wearing a breathable t-shirt and putting a cotton one under it......wet

WE been given a shirt which is actually pretty good. stretchy and breathable, plus have a sports type jacket I got to wear over top, plus have a waterproof big jacket. but I get warm, so don't think that'll be a problem.

Yeah, planning on sticking to as many paths as possible, so shouldn't be too much of a problem. Hoping it won't bloody rain either! But it's the north so you know...

Tbf...moutain gear is highly specialised....cold/hot but dry ..even with snow or.....
