If it's Lampard it will placate a lot of City fans.
Whether it was a plan all along we'll never know.

Lampard would raise the profile of the club and we’d be in the papers and on Sky a lot more, so more money coming in.
However that’s about it.
I’m not convinced he is any good as a manager though - unproven (sounds familiar) and that’s what really matters to me. He was ok at Derby and pretty poor at Chelsea.
I definitely can’t see he’d be an upgrade on Nige.

I know it’s all rumours, and no disrespect, but surely we can do better than that, if we can’t it really is a reflection of how low the football world see us, or more to the point our leadership.
