I'm not sure I would want Vydra back. Players coming back seldom seem to live up to their past reputation, and anyway what is his reputation? A very good 5 or 6 months followed by well over a year of not scoring as a striker should, a bit more than a barren patch.

I'm with you on that one.

Could he cut the mustard again?

His agent seems to feel Vydra is too good to step down below Premier league/Serie A level..

Vydra's agent is deluding himself or just being plain greedy - probably both. At the moment the jury is still out as to whether he is good enough to play in the Championship consistently let alone a top league.

One swallow does not a summer make.......

In fact he is so poor that he scored the most beautiful goal I've ever seen at vic road (against leicester in play offs) and another too BTW. so much for not interested.
you grumpy lot should try to get a better job before complaining about others trying to get one. If he came back to ud, he will light up thr place - and we'll keep deeney !

TBH, I don't think Deeney's situation will be swayed by whatever Vydra does. On one hand, I am not sure they got on. But more importantly, Deeney has two years left on his contract. If he stays another year and does not sign a new contract, his value will be slashed. If he does not have such a good season, his value will be slashed even further. So from a business point of view, he is at the top of his value at the moment.

Also, from the personal side, if we get an offer for Deeney, at an acceptable value, from a Premiership side, then who would deny him the opportunity to get to play in the premiership, and get the sort of contract a premiership side would give him.

I would love Deeney to stay but we need to be realistic and accept the financial and personal side of many decision he or the club has to make.

Not a rumour (though it could become one) but based on the rumour that we will need a new goalkeeper next season. I see that Marek Stech is probably leaving Yeovil. Would we be interested in him? He has just been called up to the Czech squad.

According to the Wobby it looks like we're signing Lloyd Dyer from Leicester. I know he wasn't happy with the one year contract he'd been offered there.

We may be keen on him returning, but it looks like he's not....

At the end of his day he will go where someone will pay him to play. Matěj Vydra may not be happy about where he plays but he has to show he has ability and encourage the teams where he wants to be to make an offer. Last season did not help him or being sulky at Watford either. And Matěj Vydra shoud lose Ondrej Chovanec as this man is doing harm to him.

This is why I don't want him back ! EVER He doesn't want to drop down to our level, thinks he is better in the Prem, it isn't going to work out a second time, he thinks he is above us. He is only a one season wonder as it is!

normally I'd agree with you Mex, but I think you are wrong this time. I agree with others... he needs to lose his agent and settle down to the hard graft, that's all.

Been linked with Westwood from Sunderland and Stech from Yeovil so we must really be after a goalie or two given Alumina and Wood are out of contract.

As for Vydra - well as Yaya Toure proved yesterday usually they only like to be controlled/listen by/to one person - their agent.
