Here's one way of looking at it. Tonight's Watford team selection was a result of Martin O'Neill's actions. Because if Davies had gone, Bolton would probably have had enough money to sign Zaha and not bothered with Sordell.
Last the bbc guy heard the deal was progressing just waiting for confirmation perhaps or the paper work. Deal worth £3m
0016: BBC Sport understands the paperwork surrounding Watford striker Marvin Sordell's £3m move to Bolton is all but done, and the move should be officially confirmed soon. Defender Adrian Mariappa, who played at Millwall tonight, was the Hornets player who seemed most likely to leave Vicarage Road but he will be staying until the summer after Wigan failed with a bid today. So, the Championship side keep the player they thought they would be losing, and lose one they thought they would be keeping. What do their fans make of that?
Must say I'm a bit disappointed with £3m. Would have been satisfied with £4m though. Most important of all is how we actually use this money.... Hopefully we can at least get some loan signings in......maybe some with the view of a permanent deal in the Summer.
They wont be. He will have signed, but the premiership has to check and double check everything and make sure all is A-ok. They then have to register the player i assume. I think we can safely say that the Spurs game was the last time Marvin Sordell was at the vic in a watford shirt.
Ah well...just glad Mapps didn't go...Sordell is a loss, but not as big a loss as Mapps would have been, by far!
Yesterday H reported that TS and HH were at the Grove. That would seem to be borne out by others. Were they talking to Baz though? Sorry, that bit of the story was incomplete.
Well I think you'll find that whilst it was true they were there, so was the whole QPR squad, preparing for tonights match. I wouldn't rule out one of them coming when the window opens next week though.... Strange how quick things change though as HH was surplus to requirements and we had him on loan. Then Warnock really liked him so he got his place back + a new contract and now Hughes has brought in new players & HH is likely to be surplus again but on a fat contract!
We can certainly hope so, with amount of forwards now at QPR surely there might be a couple like HH or TS surplus to their immediate requirements and maybe just maybebe willing to help out their old club
If we're confident that HH and TS were at the Grove last night, I'm confident that they were talking to either Bassini or someone speaking on his behalf. But I've heard nothing concrete about those players.
Will be interesting to see if they are in The Steptoe's squad tonight - mind you, apparently Zamora is injured!
My Hoops supporting brother (tsk) thinks HH is more likely than TS. Marcello Trotta being proported coming on loan next week on football rumours - corroborated by apparently independent knowledge on WFC forums. This would be good (8 in 8 for Wycombe)
I think we have got be looking at the loan market, even if it is just competition for places. HH would be a great addition especially to bring experience for our younger ones, I mean who could not learn from a master that has been there and done it and also is held in worshipful status amongst us
The window does close at kl. 23:00 but then there is a short period to tidy up the papers with the FA. You could be working on something all day and only get agreement with a few minutes to the end so the paperwork might take your move over the time limit and be stopped so there is a few hours for the FA to do their process.
We have a good squad with a mixture of knowledge and youth why not use that. We are six wins from safety.
