They've easier fixtures than us so far too

 

fixtures are only easier on paper...only RS fans will pay much attention to that. The problem the RS are facing is exactly the one faced by United when ferguson left. They started relatively well and then gradually got worse. United by any objective assessment could/should really be at least 5 points (Leicester/Burnley ) ahead and are getting better by the match. The RS are getting worse and things are starting to unravel following the loss of the Uruguayan. Brenda asking for patience because he has a new team. What? After being runners up?

The rat was the sole factor to lead the RS to their second place. Brenda had a minimal part to play. Only the most deluded fans refuse to accept that...

 

Possibly but you're gradually getting worse whereas we're gradually improving.

 

Have you seen us play? Best team in every game for a while now and deserved to have won them all on tye balance of play. Its not quite clicked but you are kidding yourself if you dont think it will

Tye humbled views of almost everyone of the regular abu's after the chelsea game for me indicate a shift in their views. We were the better side, should have won and made the bus conductors bus look like a b reg taxi with 3 wheels.


Put it this way, most united fans are confident of a performance against city, even of a win. City fans (not bases on pplf) seems a bit nervous. Beem a while since that last happened in the derby.

I think if lvg joined one month earlier, were much better off. People forget he had about a week before the league started. You can see the work on the training ground bearing fruit though. Game on game.

I think ppl continue to base our season on the Leicester result. And while we draw games, many will once again go by the result rather than the performance. The thing is, most United fans accept when our performances are dire, but right now we are looking good. If we can defend as well as we did for the most part against Chelsea, then with the way we're playing going forward, we will cement that top 4 place imo.

 

There is no way we wont be top 4.

I still reckon second is very much possible.

 

IF we sign a quality CB in January then second place is possible.

 

If that happens and we are no further behind chelsea, if what i expect in the second half of tge season comes to fruition then second would be minimum target.

I dont expect or even think we will get the title as no top class cb is coming in jan. If one somehow did amd settles quickly, well... Ive seen us chase down better sides with worse players. Im starting to see self belief, confidence and even some arrogance from the players. Well overdue.

The key thing is that there is hope for an improvement. There is no guarantee in football. But The team building continues . Yes, results have not reflected the performance. The defenders are coming back and there is rooney to come in too. The midfield will slowly become more solid.

The reality that most abu's will need to accept is that the ultimate objective is to challenge for the title - may be not this year but next year. Or the year after next; likely to be with LVG but if not with another manager; possibly with the current expensive squad but if not with more new additions. United and the GGs just CANNOT afford to do anything else. There is a business imperative for them to do absolutely anything to win that title again. Or seen to do everything

I am not that deluded to think that United are anywhere where they should be. I have said it many times even after that result. All it shows is some encouragement and hope.

Whereas the RS and their fans are still dreaming of making that next step after last season's second place when in reality everything is unravelling around their ears. Their lat premiership matches were dire and they were humiliated at home in the. CL. It is a good thing they won't be in it again for another few years...
