The world of cricket lost a great umpire / character, in Harold ' Dickie ' Bird.
I always thought he was fair in his job and played a straight bat, so to speak.
I salute him for his efforts.

Italian actress Claudia Cardinale has died aged 87.

Reflecting on her career later, Cardinale recalled: "The best compliment I ever got was from actor David Niven while filming The Pink Panther.

"He said: 'Claudia, along with spaghetti, you're Italy's greatest invention.'"

One of the stars of the the 50s and 60s along with Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida a wonderful trio of Italian sex symbols.RIP...

As a young teenager I had her pin-up on my bedroom wall.
