That Brazil side was something else - that said, England were, in my opinion, the second best side in that tournament

RIP Pele I saw him play in 1977 at the end of his career against the Vancouver Whitecaps. His class was still evident in that game. Around that time I also got to see Eusébio and Beckenbauer play in Vancouver at Empire Stadium where Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute mile record.

Another grim day all round. One of the biggest legends of football gone and a fashion icon hours later. RIP to Pele, to football what Ali was to boxing, more than just the sportsman. RIP to Vivienne, way ahead of her time. These pages are filling up far too readily lately !
