Hugh Keays-Byrne who played chief baddie the Toecutter in Mad Max and, nearly 40 years later, chief baddie Immortan Joe in Mad Max Fury Road, has died.
Very charismatic actor and equally so in interviews I have seen. He described the biker gang leader Toecutter as ‘a member of an oppressed nomadic minority’ and Immortan Joe as ‘a renaissance man simply trying to restore order to an apocalyptic world’ with a grin and a glint in his eye.
