New York born author JP Donleavy died today aged 91.
His most famous novel "The Ginger man", written in 1955, was banned in Ireland until 1968.
Brendan Behan was the first to read the original manuscript of The Ginger Man and exclaimed:
" This book is going to go around the world and beat the bejaysus out of the bible"
And he was right.
Rip to them both.

To be honest I thought he died decades ago. I've read the Ginger Man, but can't remember anything about it at all.

The number of great performances in great films Harry Dean Stanton delivered is awesome. Two Lane Black Top, Wild at Heart, The Godfather II, Paris Texas, but probably my favourite is Repo Man. "Repo man is always intense"
