They were gentlemen, highly talented and with a sporting attitude. £ brought into the game makes players more like mercenary gladiators. You take your choice...
I was talking to a Wednesday fan about the Springett brothers. He said Ron was his favourite player. When he left to join Rangers he sent a letter to Ron to say how sorry he'd left. Ron Springett took time to send him a hand written letter to thank him. What chance that happening today
He played the part excellently and was indeed a good actor. I meant that part, playing Hitler, spawned some amusing overdubbs.
Oh no, I used to love watching these guys..... Monkees musician Peter Tork dies at 77 - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47319788
I don't think he was on that tour anyway kiwi - saw Mickey Dolenz and Mike Nesmith (I think) on BBC couple of months ago discussing their shows, got the impression it was just the two of them, though not sure.....
Gutted to hear this sad news. I had the privilege to see them in 1989 in Australia. Bloody brilliant concert in a hotel resort. Dave And Micky sounded just like they did from the records of old. One of the best concerts I have ever seen. RIP
My daughter is in a pub in Newcastle having been watching the League Cup Final. Turns out one of her mates at Uni, who was also watching, is Gordon Banks’ granddaughter. They had a party for him in Newcastle before she returned to Stoke for the funeral. I have passed on the respect and condolences of QPR Not 606.
