I believe John Mahoney was born in Blackpool. Enlisted in the US army to serve in Vietnam. Loved Frasier. Rest in Peace John
Apparently he got out of the car feeling ill on Interstate 70, which runs between the airport and beyond and downtown. It’s a very busy road, like getting out on the M25. No excuse for drunk driving, but it’s pretty routine (or at least drinking after a couple of pints) in Indiana.
Yes, born in Blackpool to a talented if dysfunctional Irish Catholic family (family moved from Manchester when it was heavily bombed). Moved to the US after his sister, a war bride, sponsored him. Taught English and took and acting course, and was encouraged to join a theatre group by John Malkovitch. Brilliant actor, in a brilliant comedy series, Frasier. For me, Frasier's right up there with Fawlty Towers as the best comedy series ever. RIP please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Far, far too young RIP Liam Miller: Former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder dies aged 36 Former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder Liam Miller has died at the age of 36. Miller, who won 21 caps for the Republic of Ireland between 2004 and 2009, had been suffering from cancer. Miller started his career at Celtic in 2000 before moving to Old Trafford four years later, also playing for Leeds, Sunderland, QPR and Hibernian. Hibs said they were "incredibly saddened", adding that their "thoughts are with his family and friends". BBC Scotland pundit Tam McManus, who played with Miller at Hibs, tweeted: "I'm afraid it is true that Liam Miller has sadly passed away today. Thoughts are with all his family and friends at this horrendous time. So sad." Miller ended his career in the United States in 2016, having also played for three clubs in Australia and his hometown club Cork City before retiring. Chris Sutton, who played with Miller at Celtic, tweeted: "Terribly sad news about Liam Miller. Taken too young. Thoughts go out to his family." Sunderland also paid tribute to their former player. "We are saddened to hear this evening that former Sunderland midfielder Liam Miller has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time," the club tweeted. Leeds said everyone at the club were "deeply saddened", adding: "Our thoughts are with his family and friends."
Was an incredibly unspectacular 13 games including sub appearances in the 08/09 season. Looks like on his debut we won 3-0 at Blackpool but he only featured in one other win. Six of his 13 games finished 0-0 so I can’t blame you for not remembering. Really sad news. Assuming he had young kids even more so.

It was announced on Saturday that the wonderful Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson died aged just 48 years, here are a couple of his pieces The cause of labour is the hope of the world The suns gone dim and the skys gone black RIP the world is a poorer place today
Thanks for posting this Trammers. This is not someone I was familiar with, but those pieces, whilst being very dark, are eerily beautiful. RIP.
Prince Henri(k) of Denmark - passes on at 83. They really are an ungracious bunch over here - mind you, he never hid his dislike for Denmark and the Danes never hid their dislike for him!! http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-43054758 A first class nutter with a first class vineyard, typically French, always outspoken to the point of rudeness, DT would have loved him.
