Has been a busy week … finally got our three glass garden sculptures to Chelsea Flower Show!
Also managed to get a feature pic and namecheck in The Telegraph too!

My wife is going to Chelsea on Thursday - where are your sculptures on display, I’ll get her to keep an eye open for them and take a few pics….

My wife is going to Chelsea on Thursday - where are your sculptures on display, I’ll get her to keep an eye open for them and take a few pics….

They are on stand 542 (The Glass Garden). There are a number of glass artists displaying - we have three tall standing pieces there (a green blue disc in stainless steel, a flame in stainless steel and a glass monolith set in copper).

Not sure if anyone else is a Star Wars fan - I am for my sins. Really looking forward to Obi-Wan Kenobi which is out today. I won't expect it to reach the outstanding heights of The Mandalorian, but should be good fun nonetheless.

I've just watched the extended version of 'Dances With Wolves' on Optimus Prime. DWW has always been one of my favourite movies but, I have to say, restored with previously unseen footage it's even better. I remember when it first came out they coined the phrase 'Revisionist Western' and seem to recall a number of Western purists complaining about how it glamorised the Native American and demonised the white man. So what? A great watch and still (for me) profoundly moving.

I saw it once in a beach bar on Koh Samui, Thailand. Would have been about 1990. I was completely stoned on local weed at the time. Much stronger stuff than I was used to. My girlfriend, now wife, told me that I was totally entranced, mumbling to myself as I sipped my Singha, telling her how brilliant it was.

I remember precisely nothing about it. Absolutely zero. I don’t want to sully the experience by ever seeing it again.

I’ll avoid this one. Johnny has turned into something of an ageing twat in many ways, but I’m with him on this. Even Steve Jones, whose autobiography it’s based on, has said it’s been sexed up a lot, including him shagging Chrissie Hynde virtually constantly, which according to both him and her, didn’t happen. Or not more than once. As far as they can remember.

No problem with Jones and Cookie getting some dosh though.

I'm a couple of episodes in, quite enjoying it. Yes, I know it's been over-made, but it's good to watch something that you don't have to be 100% glued on in case you miss a vital plotline. It's not going to win any awards for script or acting, but the soundtrack, even away from the punk scene, is cracking. Not sure about the Jones/Hynde remark - two episodes in and they had a snog and a bit of flirting....

Gotta agree with Stainesy though, Maisie Williams has an astounding top rack!

It’s odd, when something is part of your personal history you get defensive about it, though that is ludicrous. I was 15/16 in NW London, and hanging around in west London a lot when all this kicked off. Paul Cook’s dad Tommy used to work with my old man. Formative stuff, 76/77 really did shape my view of the world, and sometimes it’s a bit **** to see it monetised.

If there’s a punk club it’s QPR.

You're a few years older than me - I was in East Acton around this time, but I was only 8....knew of the Sex Pistols and punk, but it certainly wasn't something my parents were playing in the house....still a lot of Beatles stuff, some Manilow and Diamond for my mother, Harry Neillson and Queen for my dad. No idea where I picked up musical tastes, didn't really get into a "scene" until the 2-tone/ska/mod revival a couple of years later, then just graduated to the indie scene.

A huge vault of unreleased Lou Reed material has been gone through and published including loads of new songs dating back to when he was in college. They chose to highlight a folk version of Waiting for the Man he sang with John Cale when they first met, clearly very influenced by Dylan.

Mishal’s question ‘Did they ever release that song?’ Now I can quite understand that she is unfamiliar with Lou’s work, but someone should have told her that it became the iconic Velvets track, or at least ask if either of the hosts had any interest in Reed. Turns out that co host Katya Adler does ‘wow, 4 to 500 boxes of Lou Reed material to go through? I’m more than a little jealous’..

Apparently he recorded this, put the tape in an envelope and sent it to himself, never opening it. This was a way to show copyright without paying a copyright lawyer, the sealed, date stamped envelope protected the rights to the song…..

I’m not a huge fan of folk but the song still sounds good and is still obviously about a dealer…in 1965.

I've just watched 'The Lazurus Project' on Sky. At first after 15 minutes, I thought it was a load of wokery nonsense and nearly gave up. Then it turned into a complete and utterly thought provoking show. I think it was Sb who described 'Inside No 9s Tales of the Unexpected on acid.' This show beats it. I wished I'd thought of it.

I forgot to add this show is like 'Groundhog Day' on acid and the main actors are superb.
