We've had black goldfish orange goldfish, white goldfish so a gold goldfish wouldn't be too big a surprise....I mean, where did they get their name... they should really be called orangefish if that's the only colour you got!

It's the colouring of a carp, but I suppose they are related.

.....Sings Elvis on BBC 4.

One might be forgiven for thinking that this would be a selection of artists singing songs written by Elvis Presley.

But of course the talentless charlatan never actually wrote a single song.

Does an actor have to write their own movie?

Sherwood on BBC at the moment. An excellent drama set in Nottingham, where police are investigating two murders. The story links to the divisions caused by the Miners' strike back in the 80s. Really gripping and with an excellent cast.

Not a review of Santorini, where I am relaxing, which is stunning, but a comment on the Greek people we are encountering.

Universally lovely. Obviously this is a tourist island and most people are in some way involved in this and these are the ones we are meeting. But the friendliness and openness is over and above expectations (on top of very good service). This country and these people have been beaten up by the financial crisis, coping with millions of refugees, the pandemic…you name it. Now inflation is once again crippling the country. They are doing the best they can as individuals. Had a long chat with a lad working at our hotel - from Athens, he is here working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for six months, because he can’t get a job in his chosen profession - PE teacher. Inflation means it’s impossible to save, so he’s just hoping to build his CV by taking on as much responsibility as possible and delivering. We told him with that attitude and incredible work ethic he’ll come good in the end, but you could tell he has doubts. Plan for the winter - construction work.

The one thing that these guys have in common is pride - in what they are doing, in the service they are providing and in themselves. The young lad said he really enjoys meeting and talking to people like us, the only bit of the job that gets him down is when he’s not treated with respect by guests. I was chuffed to hear this is very rarely the case with Brits.

Respect.

**** it, it's nearly over, but Sky Arts is showing Joe Cocker: Mad Dogs and Englishmen right now.

Magnificent.

Any fans of The Boys on Prime? Just started Season 3....that's some opening scene! As jnr put it to me, it's got to be one of the most sexually inappropriate scenes he's seen <laugh> it's pretty high on the scale I must admit, **** knows what drugs the writers were on when they came up with that idea...
