Gangs, violence, sheffing and food…….what I need right now.

I missed it since it went over to Netflix - was the last season any good?
Any mental Russian grannies in it?
Spelling mistake…should have said “Cheffing”…..slang for stabbing
Ah, right. Totally like my last marriage then.
Listening to British Drill music is like learning a second language sometimes…..flickys, bells, paigons, P’s and whips
Indeed. I didn’t understand a word of that.

Following on from some discussions initiated by Stainsey’s experience with a lady with dementia, there is a very eloquent and moving story in the Sunday Times Magazine today, by an American lady who’s husband, when diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, was determined to go out on his own terms. Because he wasn’t within 6 months of death the assisted dying practices in the US were not available to him, so they went to Dignitas in Switzerland. She describes the experience very clearly and calmly, along with their backstory.
As well as moving I found it very helpful. It’s beyond me that in the U.K. we still don’t have assisted dying, let alone the ‘accompanied suicide’ provided by Dignitas, which is really the only option for those with long term neurodegenerative illnesses, because you need to be able not only to pass the interviews as to whether you really want to go ahead, but also commit the act of drinking the sodium pentobarbital without help - which you might not be able to do if within 6 months of death, cognitive and or physical control could have gone (of course you also need lots of independent doctors providing evidence of your condition and prognosis before you get there).
Anyway, meant to be a review, not a soapbox. The gentleman’s name was Brian Ameche, he died in 2020 aged 66.
