Not a review, but a request for recommendations. My son watches stuff on his phone on his commute to work, which lasts about 40 minutes, and has a similar sense of humour to my own. He's just finished watching all 180 episodes of Seinfeld (his choice) and I have told him he should start watching either Larry Sanders or The Day Today. What would you lot advise?

Detectorists. Twin Peaks
I’ve seen a few. Not bad, quite old fashioned, but Toby Jones is excellent as he is in everything.I haven't seen Detectorists, and wouldn't have expected much from it, but have heard other good reports.

If your son doesn’t mind a lot of excellent swearing, The Thick Of It is great.
I watch Veep mainly on plane journeys, where it always seems to be on the Entertainment selection. It’s very good, similar to the Thick of It, very sweary and funny but no one to match up to Malcolm Tucker.I didn't watch League of Gentlemen first time round but have watched most of them since and liked it a lot.
Inside Number Nine has been absolutely brilliant at times.
He hears a lot of excellent swearing when he sits with me and my old fart companions at QPR. The Thick Of It is great - have you seen Veep? (I haven't)

Who also links to Alan Partridge. I also like the Trip films with Steve Coogan and Rob Bryson, though watching them back to back may be a bit wearing.Armando Iannucci seems to be a thread here.
