RIP Terry Yorath. A very memorable figure from the 70s and 80s. I didn’t know he lost his son aged 15. Hopefully they’re back together knocking a ball about somewhere.

RIP Martin Chivers
When I was very young somebody (for a birthday present I think) bought me a couple of modest sized statues of famous footballers, which stood for many years on the mantlepiece in my bedroom during my childhood. Not expensive pieces, just painted plastic. Each player in an 'action' pose, on a little square plinth painted like a grassy bit of pitch. They are my earliest memories of anything to do with football.
One was George Best, in his Man Utd kit. The other was Martin Chivers, in Spurs colours.

Other than the Rocket, I couldn't tell you the names of any players these days. It's the same with darts, tennis, rugby and cricket. I was an avid viewer of most sports, but now it's just football and boxing.
Anyone else used to watch Transworld Sport on a Sunday morning? That was a cracking watch. And Standing Room Only with the dude from Brookside. Great tellybox.
