I just read that Freddie Starr had a heart attack and heart surgery back in 2010. His health has probably been poor since then. He is free of that now, which is a mercy.
RIP Freddie. LOved his Max Wall impression. There is a report on the BBC website in the entertainment section.
He wasn't/isn't politically correct. So to acknowledge him isn't politically correct either. Must admit though, ignoring his death is a novel approach. Kind of implies they will behave as if he was still alive - much in the same way Banks and Utility providers do for the rest of us, however often our next of kin tell them otherwise. I think I'll take a leaf out of their book and ignore my own death (whenever it happens).
Blimey, if Freddie Starr's death now qualifies as entertainment they are an edgier lot at the BBC than I thought.
RIP Doris Day, 97. Maybe on Friday we could pay tribute to her with a rendition of her famous hit: Que sera sera Whatever will be will be We're going to Wemberlee Que sera sera.
After his crash he was out for just TWO Grand Prixs … the crash almost killed him and he missed just two races!
