Never been a monarchist myself, but I've always been quite happy to abide with the definite fact that most people in this country are.

I still see this as a very sad day. She has been Head of State all my life and will leave an un-fillable void.
Amazingly she has kept, in this modern day, an institution alive which would have perished in lesser hands.

I was born with a king as monarch it now looks certain i will die with a king as monarch, up to maybe 6 month ago i wouldnt have put money on it. I thought she would have lasted as her mother did. Not a royalist but sad all the same.

I’m a 50 yr old bloke, can’t believe how up set I am with this news. She always reminds me of my mother,

R.I.P
Think a lot of us feel the same fella. I’m 47 and she is the only monarch I’ve known in my lifetime, my mother is not yet 70 so she has literally spanned two generations of my family to date from birth….a truly remarkable achievement and one which is never like to be repeated I would have thought.

A sad day for our nation.

God bless Queen Elizabeth the Second.

I've tried to do a post here for almost an hour, but I just can't find the words.

Your though have done it all for me.
BoJo has summed it up quite eloquently and perfectly for me in his statement, lengthy as it is…it’s bang on. A truly remarkable woman who gave her life to serve her country and us all.

It’s mind boggling and frightening thinking about how much will have to change. National anthem, stamps, coins, banknotes probably just the tip of the iceberg. It really is a truly sad day.
