There's actually been lots.of studies on this and they all show different results. The most often repeated experiment is, getting people to pray for sick people in a hospital. Different studies disagree, but the majority/larger studies seem to align with:

If the person who is being prayed for, know they're being prayed for, they're more likely to recover and recover faster.

If they don't know they're being prayed for, to hey don't recover faster.

Which would tend to aline with "its all in the head" but there again, can you really experiment with God? If there were a God would he listen to prayers that were just experiments and not genuine?

Britain does not have free speech. Hate speech is illegal, protests can be illegal. Rich people can get injunctions to have damaging stories stifled in the press. If you expand free speech to mean expression then Britian also bans some forms.od pornography, like forms of BDSM.

It's a far cry from some countries where criticizing the monarchy will put you in jail but it isn't free speech.
