Just going by what the BBC themselves are saying - that bigger numbers are more trustworthy, and that the three results so far haven't shown the level of swing to Labour that the opinion polls were predicting. Remember this is the left-leaning BBC, so they must be kicking themselves when they say it.

Very deep sigh.

Imagine turning up at a new place of work and discovering that one of your schoolmates worked there. What are the chances? 100,000/1???

Then imagine you see that all of your old pals work there. Wow! Just wow!!!

I'm afraid the appeal of election night has left me - the times of staying up late only to flag around 3am with about 15 results in are behind me.

A bit like pausing the voting part of Eurovision and then speculating on the results to make it last 12 hours.

Enjoy gents, TOTP 1980 on BBC4 and then an early night for me. :)

Normal service has been resumed.

The Paxman thing on C4 is crap, reading from poorly written 'comedy' scripts. Apparently John Stapleton, who is surely dead in real life, is a part of the ITV team, so it's back to the Beeb.

I watched the first hour of the C4 thing and Paxman was embarrassing.

I did the same thing. It was rather desperate to say the least. David Mitchell was disappointing. Paxman looked desperate and scripted and knew it.

Don't think Peter Robinson is contesting the election, he lost the last one to Naomi Long of the Alliance so sticks to the Assembly these days.
ahh ok, shows you how much attention I pay to politics. So if Cameron forms a coalition with the DUP, who is their leader in Westminster? Nigel Dodds, Paisley Junior, wee Jeffrey? Good luck to you all having such a fantastic choice.

RTE are reporting that Nigel Dodds has confirmed that if the exit polls are accurate then the DUP would play a pivotal role in the formation of the next government. We are so envious over here.

I heard some random politician on the radio the other day saying how, in his marginal constituency at the last election, he was told before the count by the exit pollster that he had lost. The returning officer, however, told him that he thought he had won. When he actually won the count, he questioned the pollster about his prediction, only to be told that it was 'within the margin of error'.

Don't give up yet Strolls. Good will always triumph over evil
I'll remind you about that in the morning. I trust when the results show a Conservative party with most seats, and able to form either a working majority or a workable minority government, you'll still be saying that... :)
