There are certainly little folk kicking about in ancient times.
I was being semi-serious about Giants. I am a big believer in mythology having started from somebodies truth. Norse mythology has Giants as the first race. Lots of cultures have Giant myths in them. We do in this country, whether it be gogmagog, or Geoffrey of Monmouth claiming giants were the first settlers here, to be overwhelmed by humans. Egypt have their Giants, North America has any amouny of legends and beliefs. Greek mythology too. The bible has the nephilim. There are links in these myths to magical powers too.
All sounds a bit fantastical I know. But, like I say, I do think there are kernels of truth in some of these myths and stories.
Fascinates me this subject and could watch documentaries about it all day, any body else read the books of Erich von Daniken,his first was “chariots of the gods” read them all when I was younger and a bit more impressionable, but the questions and theories he asks have always intrigued me

Many today, who are challenging the accepted norm, get pilloried. There are loads of inquisitive folk, using good research methodologies who are finding reason to challenge norms, but they are dismissed generally. Graham Hancock is the most obvious one, but there are others less in the limelight, asking some really good questions.
I listen to a podcast called earth ancients. There are some who come on with theories that are too out there, even for me, but some have some real interest. Loads of episodes on egypt.

I called a Virgin engineer out a few years ago because whenever i recorded a program and the adverts came on, id try forward them with my remote and when the program started again, id press 'Play', but it would take ages for it to work, and id end up having to rewind it again.
He turned up, i explained my problem to him and he said "Pass me your remote mate".
He then took 2 batteries out his top pocket changed them and said, "there you go mate, sorted. Your batteries needed changing".
Yes did the pyramids/sphinx. Absolutely superb sights.

The stones are enormous for a start, and the precision in the construction, including I think relatively recently discovered internal fearures seem to make every possible theory look impossible.
Amazing to think that these great things were once from covered top to bottom in limestone, making a smooth surface, and that the top section was paved with Gold. Bloody hell man!

or an ancient, advanced civilisation wiped out by a global catastrophe, and lost to history..
In short, I don’t know mate but it certainly wasn’t our prehistoric ancestors who built these things - without the tools and knowledge to do so

Don't listen to Hancock, don't believe Ancient Aliens. The truth is stranger than any of their fictions. Ancient people were more sophisticated, more intelligent, more complex than people give them credit for. The way they lived their lives was just different and they were prepared to spend long periods building these things. They were more than capable of building all of these monuments.
All of the atlantean, Ancient aliens, Graham Hancock stuff is rooted in 18th/19th C racial theories that non-Europeans were not intellectually capable of building anything other than simple structures. Which is obviously bollocks.
