I have not got a crystal ball to tell you anything. What i was saying is use the full season stats not just the bad bits we are into the 2nd game of the season now and have not played a bad game yet things will pick up

I sincerely hope your right.

I'm an eternal optimist, and i am ****ing struggling to find anything to grab onto, seriously.

I'm not keen on arguing and fighting with fellow SAFC fans, but i am sticking to my guns on this one, the full season stats, despite some impressive results in the first half, still show a top 10 club that lost half of it's home games.

Does this suggest a good season, or a weak league?

I'm not trying to be negative, believe me that's not my style, i desperatley would love someone to convince me we're gonna be ok, but i am struggling mate, really struggling.

Hang on a minute.

I'm like a Mag because i think it's unacceptable that my team, that i have adored, lived and breathed for 31 years, have slumped so badly, to a run of levels not far above the Wilko and McCartney years, despite massive investment?

I'm like a Mag to rightfully expect the manager of my beloved club to be able to pick a team from a large squad of players with players in their correct positions and with the capacity to threathen lower league opposition?

What stats would you like me to use? These are cold hard facts my man, if i was Ellis Short, i'd be ****ing spitting.

You go and compare me to a Mag for having a bit of passion about my club, i said all along Brighton was a tough game, i didn't expect a man on millions a year to pick a team which had no balance, no direction and NO STRIKERS.

How long do we defend him for?

You think we'll win at Swansea? Beat Chelsea? Cos that would be 5 in 33.

You telling me that ain't a problem? That's 5 games off a season potentially with 5 wins.

Exactly BB good post.

Up until yesterday I had never thought of wanting Bruce sacked, however after yesterday woeful showing, and Steve Bruce thinks we can win a game of football with no strikers just beggers belief. I know were only 3 games into the season but its obvious we are not as good as we thought and with not replacing Bent we are in for a season towards the bottom end of the table.

I don't care if Brighton played well that's of no concern of mine, what is though is the performance of our players we should be going there and beating them not looking for excuses.

We will lose against Swansea I have no doubt of that.

5G1HT - The lad has come in for some unfair criticism he only offered his opinion some of which I agree with.

haha you enter our board and expect no verbal abuse? You better get some sleep because they will be at it allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll night longgggg!

I expect verbal abuse if I'm WUMing your board in the most witless way possible like murray out and psycho like to do on a regular basis. However I just stated my opinion on Bruce and an opinion that seemed to be popular with many other sunderland fans.

May I just say well done, for responding without name calling. Now if the pro Bruce posters can try this method we may be back to a forum. <ok>

It gets better on here every day, haha. I'm thinking of starting to support Sunderland as a second team just so I can feel some of this passion!

Can I just say, I'm a fan of SB as a player obviously...well I was when he played, and to some extent he's a good manager, in that I can see he can set up a team to defend well. But has he ever delivered at any level? Let's face it, Roberto Di Matteo and Chris Hughton got a Championship promotion in their first season with WBA and NUFC respectively, so that's no massive feat. All I can think of is that he's uncovered some decent players, Valencia being the pick of the crop if I'm not mistaken he was brought in by Bruce to Wigan. But I can't see what he's achieved that makes you think you're not getting your monies worth out of him.

Last season SAFC went on a very decent run, but it was massively distorted by the extremely poor starts to the season from Liverpool, Everton, Fulham and Villa. The Bent sale had nothing to do with it, Sunderland just ran into a load of fixtures against teams they wouldn't usually beat, but because they recorded results against, Chelsea, City and Liverpool, SAFC's fans' expectations went through the roof.

Steve Bruce won't deliver you success because it's not in his pedigree as a manager to do so, but sacking him probably won't help, that should have been done before the chequebook came out in the summer if it was going to be done at all.

4 points from your next two fixtures and I bet there wouldn't be a "Bruce Out" post in sight.

The hardcore who have never give him a lickings would still be there, but I'm sure that the knee-jerk over-reaction that we are now witnessing would die down...
