Mauricio will persist with this style because he has can see and has shown that it is effective in producing results against technically superior teams. Our players achieve results and look better than you might expect on paper. However, you must have the right players. Generally, we do, but we struggle when deprived of our defence...we all knew this and were rightly worried if injuries should kick in. Mind you I doubt that any envisaged we would virtually lose the lot at the same time....hopefully, they all come back together. We were playing this style against Spurs, but they outplayed us.

He said he wants to be playing here in his 30s and to have his kids play for us. Plus, he's not exactly Messi so it's not like he's so good he must be in the CL. If our Chairman's ambitions come true, we'll be in the CL in a few years, just as you may be with a bit of luck and more purchases!

What?!?! I heard he is better than him.

You really are a picky fella, aren't you. He hit it cleaner than Bobby Stokes struck his magnificent goal :)

I couldn't care less how he hit it, it went in. If you could stop yourself from insulting me for long enough to read the context though you'd realise my point was that despite the fact he's a fantastic player, shooting is generally a weakness in his game. Surely that's inarguable?

He's right about Lambert though, he was woeful.

Well hopefully his goal will give him a boost. Only his second goal from open play this season. He's scored 2 penalties, 2 tap ins and a free kick. I thought the prospect of going to the World Cup would really motivate him. He won't be going if he keeps playing like this that's for sure. Come on Rickie get a grip!

The newcastle fan raised a good point, Lambert simply doesn't/can't work hard enough to start off the pressing game. I imagine that's why Poch tried him at CAM against newcastle.

Something is wrong with our Rickie...perhaps the formation doesn't suit him (or he needs more love<smooch>). Pleased he got a goal yesterday, because we will need him if Dani is out.

We really need Dani to not be out and have a run of games right now. Rickie really isn't at the races. Hardly even win a header yesterday.

This is exactly why it's so frustrating that Osvaldo had to get involved in that scrap with the Newcastle staff. Apart from being a completely stupid thing to do anyway, to do it now when he is likely to get his first real run in the team, and when we need him most... just so disappointing.

I think you might be right in some respects about his Loyalty. And Shearer is a perfect example of this..... BUT HE WON NOTHING WITH US.

I have to say I would admire his reasons for staying but football careers are short and if he wants to fulfil his full potential of winning trophies..... maybe he has to move on. But then again you guys might be winning trophies soon anyways.

You seem to bring some quality players through the youth systems and in recent times you have brought some of the best players through and guess what... they moved onto other clubs......

Well at least our first team XI isn't the French reserve team.

I'm struggling to understand your point. You seem to have changed your tune from "he will leave" to "he should leave". Well maybe he should, only time will tell, but as long as he stays it's really none of our concern how much he could achieve at another club.

As for the other players, we simply weren't in a position to keep them. The sale of Bale basically stopped us from going under, and as for Oxlade-Chamberlain, no league one club can refuse £12m for any player. To be fair we haven't exactly missed him, and you could argue that it might have been better for his career had he stayed.

His finishing needs plenty of work. Not only that but he often tries some fancy turn or skill, which leads to nothing, when he should already be crossing, passing or shooting. He could be a world class player with better decision making and finishing.

boy, you are sensitive too if you really think that is me insulting you. You often like to point out people's rights to post things; I just exercised my right to point out that, in my opinion, on this instance, you were being picky

Chill |(did you miss the smiley face) sorry, I couldn't read into the context of a one liner.

No instead it's the England reserve team <cheers>

In all seriousness, Sissoko, Cabaye, Debuchy are all very good players. Especially Cabaye and Debuchy, after Ribery and Lloris they're practically the first name on the French team sheet.

I don't "often like to point out people's rights", I once rhetorically asked if I didn't have the right to ask a question, in response to another of your hilarious jibes.

Frankly I think you need to pay more attention to what you write. You insist you are not insulting me and in the same breath you call me "boy", "sensitive" and "picky". If you find I'm less than friendly in response then tough luck. I don't routinely make personal comments about you though.

I think we've been over this before, and I'm not saying Debuchy isn't a good player, but it's a crime that Sagna is behind him for that right-back spot.
