Classic Man Utd late penalty. Shame rat face scored it this week. Is a foul not meant to be where it started from?

Fair enough then, albeit we didn’t get those in the PL. Must be a coincidence that Man Utd do. Also just seen Burnley were disallowed a goal for a ridiculous VAR ‘offside’.

Is it bollocks 'fair enough' though. It's a sad state of affairs that people are debating the inside/outside the box issue, while completely ignoring the fact that Amad faked tripping over an invisible brick to fool the ref in the first place.

One of my issues with VAR in the prem is it actively promotes simulation. As it does nothing for yellow card offences, players know they can feel any kind of touch and will roll around on the floor in the hopes it looks bad in super slow mo.

I don’t want the game slowed down more, but why can’t the VAR team give post match yellows to clear and obvious simulation?

I remember when they brought in retrospective action for diving with a 3 game ban.

Think only one player was ever punished. An Everton player iirc.

With VAR, the chances of conning a referee into giving the wrong decision these days are virtually nil.

My really anti sport watching wife walked into the kitchen and I had the england rugby game on and muttered "Bet they don't do the dying swan act when they get breathed on".

Not actually sure what she wanted as she left the kitchen again straight after and I'm not in trouble so can't have been something I was meant to do and hadn't.

There’s only one thing I hate more than diving, and that’s the rugby vs football debate. It almost always stems from rugby fans (not saying this re your wife, just generally!) who are basically jealous that football is ten times more popular. It also has very thinly veiled snobbery attached. They’re two different sports entirely. About as relevant as comparing hockey and tennis behaviours.

Salisbury being removed as VAR today doesn't do anything to help Fulham. Horse has bolted.

Will Rob Jones be punished as well then? The call wasn't just on Salisbury. He could have stuck with his on field call so he should be dropped for the next round as well.

She not a fan of any sport - she just thinks most football players are overpaid pansies...

I don't really have a position on the football v rugby debate as I'd happily sit and watch both all day

I'm a garbage football player and was an average rugby player. Played on the wing at school from 11-16 and my best attributes were being a bit bigger and a lot faster than most other players so I could run through the the backs and avoid the bigger forwards and that compensated for a lack of skills until I got to the army at 16 and then found out what decent rugby players played like.

in terms of hockey I did a good tree impression.
