As we are not playing this weekend I thought I would look at the teams below us...only out of curiosity as I am not overly concerned as we are still playing well. The games involving those teams are (home or away not indicated):

Crystal Palace v Everton
Brighton v Watford
Bournemouth
v Sheffield United
West Ham United v Man City

Only Palace can go over us (with win or draw)....so no danger of a psychological blow by dropping several places. West Ham have a toughie....shame. Brighton v Watford is an important game for both teams. In an ideal world, losses for Palace, Bournemouth and WHU would be good, with perhaps a win/draw for Watford to keep Brighton down there. ??

Yes, I am bored :)
Why are there any matches on at all?

Summer transfer window deadline returning to end of August/beginning September.

Yawn. I've enjoyed the season being underway without all that nonsense the past couple of years.

Agree. But it needs to be across Europe too, otherwise it’s shown that it makes it harder for PL clubs, particularly to sell players to Europe. It’s potentially help to us to clear the decks this summer.

Why does it make it harder to sell players? Any PL club could still sell upto the European deadline if they wanted.

With no ability to replace the player and to clubs that have leverage? It’s hardly been a winning position for clubs. It already was an issue this summer. Spurs had problems moving Erickson and other clubs expressed problems related to the misaligned deadlines. It needs to be unified across confederations for changes to be effective.
