More than two-thirds of Premier League fans believe the video assistant referee has made the game less enjoyable, says a YouGov survey.

VAR has been at the centre of a number of controversial decisions since it was introduced to the league this season.

Six out of 10 of those surveyed felt the system was working badly.

Wow, who knew? ;)

The other third couldn't be arsed to get off their fat arses and go to a live game.

Yeah... but it removes the doubt... or eliminates bias... or something.

The number of people surveyed is extremely small compared to the number of people who actually go to the football matches.

That could be hugely subjective on how fortunate or unfortunate your team has been with VAR decisions.

For the record I think ultimately it will be good for football but right now it IS spoiling enjoyment because it's not being used right. I also think pundits and media are too greatly influencing people's opinions of VAR and also mistakenly (or purposefully) blaming VAR for things that are not VAR's fault.

The sooner VAR is used to merely check a referee's decision is not clearly and obviously wrong, and stops trying to be the decision maker itself, the sooner football will return to being enjoyable for (almost) all. Simple solution as I have always said is that if there is any degree of uncertainty when it goes to VAR, stick with on-field decision. This includes offside calls that are not immediately obvious

As we are not playing this weekend I thought I would look at the teams below us...only out of curiosity as I am not overly concerned as we are still playing well. The games involving those teams are (home or away not indicated):

Crystal Palace v Everton
Brighton v Watford
Bournemouth
v Sheffield United
West Ham United v Man City

Only Palace can go over us (with win or draw)....so no danger of a psychological blow by dropping several places. West Ham have a toughie....shame. Brighton v Watford is an important game for both teams. In an ideal world, losses for Palace, Bournemouth and WHU would be good, with perhaps a win/draw for Watford to keep Brighton down there. ??

Yes, I am bored :)
