Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers felt Sadio Mane "made the most of the contact" that earned Liverpool a match-winning penalty at Anfield on Saturday.

Brendan & I agree on something. Maybe my ambition has changed.

Tbf, Sadio Mane used to make the most of contact when playing for us. But he did often get chopped down. I can remember a game against Chelsea [who else?], but at Stamford Bridge, where Mane was definitely fouled twice in and around the penalty area, and was booked for diving on the second foul. So I guess it depended on who you played for before VAR. Now it shouldn't.

Well I certainly thought this season would be at least slightly better than last. Turns out we are still **** but Liverpool will actually win the league this time. Oh dear oh dear

The international break couldn't have fallen at a worse time for Silva. Always a prime window for a club to change their manager.

(They've actually got a fairly nice set of fixtures for the rest of the month. So things could be looking very different for him in a few weeks, if he is given the time. But right now, Everton might be more concerned about the club potentially wasting those fixtures if they don't make the change first.)

And for Ole too.

Bloody hell. Palace level on points with Chelsea and Leicester.

No one's been licking their balls as much though. Fair play Hodge-podge, you weird owl-man.

Palace's next five: City, Arsenal, Leicester, Chelsea, Liverpool. Either a very good opportunity to show that they're for real, or an excellent way to do their goal differential in.

I said in the summer that Arsenal should buy Gary Cahill. Wish we'd have gone in for him, could have built the back four around him, and got a vocal leader at the same time. I'm not usually one for 'what might have been's'.....but damn.

Just eight goals conceded by Palace in eight games - and four of those came in the same game. Cahill has played in two of their three clean sheets.

Only Liverpool, Leicester and Sheff Utd have conceded less.

But it cannot be denied that they've had a nice start. Their four home games have been Everton, Villa, Norwich and Wolves. They are yet to play any of the other six sides currently in the top seven.

Also, at the other end of the pitch, only Newcastle, Watford, Everton and Sheff Utd have scored less.

Ultimately though, 14 points already in the bag means that they are almost half way to safety already.

I hoped we might go for him as well. Him and Traore. On the plus side we have still got Shane and Vesty.
