Brighton are ****ed beyond help now. Surely Cardiff will pick up 3 points from Palace/Fulham.

Ah, this really is a lovely relegation battle this year, by the way. Like dining in a fine restaurant.

Last year was cheesy beans on toast.

Cardiff almost certainly still have to beat Palace and Fulham. But if they do, that really lays down a marker to Brighton. They would still need four points - and if they were to have already lost away to Wolves this weekend, I wouldn't see those four points forthcoming.

I have been thinking along the same lines. Brighton have lost their last four games now. The statistics and running text commentary last night was suggestive that they were the better team. Brighton have been lucky that some bad refereeing decisions cost Cardiff points against Chelsea and Burnley and I don't think that they deserved to lose either of those games. You can never write Warnock off. There seems to be a degree of momentum with Cardiff whereas Brighton's recent form and following fixtures would make worrying reading if you were a fan.

Brighton's run in is frightening. I can only imagine them getting anything against Newcastle and on present form even that looks unlikely. As Wolves showed last week, they are a really good footballing team and should brush Brighton aside on current form on Saturday. I give Brighton no chance against Man City, Arsenal or Spurs. You could predict a situation where they would still be likely to finish below us on goal difference if we did not pick up any further points.

The Cardiff v Palace match will be interesting. I am not convinced that this can be safely predicted. I still think Hodgson has made Palace difficult to play against.

Just hope Cardiff aren't just being tortured before the inevitable. Brighton still have an advantage of a couple of points, so Cardiff have to get one win more than they do. Never easy. There may not be many points earned by either team before the end of the season, but Brighton only need a lucky break and the situation gets harder.

Didn´t Chelsea sack one of their many managers just before the last game of the season? Or was it City? Watford? It was one of these clubs.

There's been a few in the last couple of games. You might be thinking of Mancini at Man City. Also...Hughton, at Norwich, 5 games before the end of the season (they went down).
