They want to maintain the status quo. Give the richest clubs with the biggest followings the most money...Even if you have a really good season (Wolves, Watford), you're still on the tv half as much as media darlings Liverpool. Interesting that the likes of Burnley and Cardiff who play arguably the dullest football have been on TV more than us this season.
Don't they choose the first half season's fixtures before the season starts? We were awful in the last two seasons, and thoroughly deserved to be on TV less than anyone else this season. Cardiff are newly promoted so fair enough, give them a little time in the spotlight. It's not a conspiracy. It's just that people would rather watch quality football being played by household name superstars.
I always thought it was 99% down to viewing figures. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Liverpool had more fans globally than every other team outside the top 6 put together so hardly surprising they are shown loads more.
And the big six have been putting pressure on about a different cut of the money for a few years now. So I guess the powers that be are trying to keep them happy. (I was looking forward to the breakaway league, darn it)
Or just be crap over the next few weeks so that we're still in the mix for relegation on the final day and we then get one more TV game.....
No issues for me about being shown the least on TV - I have a big dislike for how kick-offs get moved around to suit the TV companies rather than the fans.
They did. This year they were all crying about not being included in the title discussion around January time when they were 2nd and City were 3rd. Looks like they will come 6th in a 3 horse race this time.
