If we get a few more and City overturn things second half we could still end up above them at 5 pm so I care!
Palace host Cardiff on Boxing Day. They could finish that day nine points clear of the bottom three, and out of the relegation battle. Huddersfield and Fulham need to turn things around very quickly.
Reeeeeeeeeeally glad that Hasenhuttl has made a fast start of it, because (predictably) points are being taken by the teams that were hanging around the drop zone. Had we hung on to Hughes for another few matches, we could well have been in a terrible bit of trouble.
Indeed. We're still (at least) one win short of being anything like on track - 18 points from 19 games would still be nothing to be proud of, but these days it should put you in a position to survive if you can maintain it - but we have an excellent chance now of getting that win on Thursday. Although of course the main point is the upturn under Ralph, and consequently the hope that the remainder of the season will see us averaging more than one point per game (as opposed to basically half a point per game). Something in the mid 40s suddenly looks achievable. Not long ago, I'd have snatched your hand off for something in the mid 30s.
Today (and last Sunday) has proved that it's possible to pick up points against the top teams though and we would have momentum if we can beat the Spammers too.
David Brooks 5 goals in the league this season from midfield, only 21 years old. Did England miss a trick with this lad?
