Hasten to add again that it's really only bringing football into line with other professional sports, which in turn owes to the fact that revenues in football has moved into line with other professional sports (or exceeded them, in the case of the likes of Man United). No one would bat an eye if even a bottom-feeder in MLB or the NBA spent $68m over five years on a good player, and Man United has revenues matching or exceeding every team in those leagues.
It'd take me just over a decade to earn what he now earns in a week and I had to go massively into debt to go to university to earn a degree to get the job I do. Different worlds! Good luck to him. I hope he can really push on from here and prove himself as Englands best left back.
2-2 FT Jose in trouble again after one of the Chelsea back room staff wound him him resulting in security grabbing him as he chased the wum down the tunnel.
Me too. Mind you, Liverpool only need to win 12-0 to go top. City have a ridiculous GD of +23 after 9 games!
Its hard not to admire the way 'Udders go about things. They play with great unity, they keep attacking, & they don't look to cheat all the time like other clubs. Add to that their vocal home support & gaffer, lots to like up there. Fair play to them. Side note.......glad they are losing!
BBC headline: “Liverpool join Man City at top with win at Huddersfield”, despite having a 10 GD deficit.
