Newcastle's season starts now (well, after the international break), so it's great news that they didn't get a boost here to take into that.

Their run of games now - taking them all the way up to Xmas day - reads: Brighton (h), Saints (a), Watford (h), Bmouth (h), Burnley (a), West Ham (h), Everton (a), Wolves (h), Huddersfield (a), Fulham (h).

With the possible exception of Everton away, every one of those games is winnable for them. If they're not clear of the bottom three come Xmas day, they're in monumental trouble.

Well done Mike Dean for showing Ralls a red card. Could easily have shown yellow but that was serious foul play.

I was a bit annoyed with his manager. Clear red card. I was also surprised hat nobody said what my lad said.

“Clear red, because itwas an off the ball challenge, as he was so far from the ball.” <laugh>

Warnock's a berk. He would have gone mental on the touchline if someone had done that to one of his players. Hypocrite.

Don’t see how it’s “serious foul play” he’s not out of control or looked to hurt him he’s just cleaned him out. If someone does that on the half way line during a counter attack you’d say it was a good foul to give away and yellow card , I fail to see the difference.

I know I’ve explained it awfully but I know what I mean <laugh>

It deserved a red. I’m not sure under what law, but it was ridiculous. It was off the ball it was so bad.

He knew full well what he was doing. He endangered the safety of the player by taking him out off the ball. I would say he did look to injure the player. He could have pulled him back or tripped him rather than take him out like that.

All he’s done is made sure that attack doesn’t continue , for me personally he wipes him out and takes the yellow, nothing wrong with that. You can argue its unsporting or whatever . No red for me though.

It was so far off the ball you could argue the case for violent conduct. Actually, scrap serious foul play, that was violent conduct IMO. He intentionally wiped out the player off the ball.

If I’m Warnock and Ralls doesn’t clean him out, lets him go and spurs go on and score, I’d be ****ing pissed. He did the right thing , red was harsh.
