Was watching MNF and Carragher said that he should be banned and was laughed at by Bellamy and whoever the presenter is. Both of them saying that, whilst it wasn't a pen, there was contact and travelling at pace meant he would go down. They even said that he made the most of it, but didn't think it was a ban for diving. This is the reason why diving has come in more and more in my view, it is tolerated now and even encouraged by pundits. How many times have you heard "well theres contact so he is entitled to go down" or words to that effect? It is a contact sport ffs, not every contact is a foul.
Diving/simulation/over acting doesn't massively bother me however, be nice if it was stamped out but think it is so far gone now that it will take a minor miracle for it to be cut out completely. I see it every week at the level I play at with players trying to get others sent off by over acting or diving and that is obviously way below PL/professional level
Quite frankly I don't care if a Saints player cheats his way to a penalty with a forward roll, head spin and a dive that would win the Olympics....as long as we win against Everton.
Going to admit that the thought crossed my mind that if we lose to Everton then Pellegrino would almost certainly be sacked. I dismissed the thought, but it didn't daunt me at all.
Indeed. And if one cites the alternative which is "well there's contact, but he's entitled to stay on his feet", one would automatically hear shouts of stay in the real world, mate. The fact that one would receive comments like that is evidence that not only is diving tolerated, it is almost entirely accepted.

I’d suggest people in the real world are sacked and rehired all the time. Perhaps potential employers didn’t hear of the need on Sky Sports, but nonetheless.
In many cases teams rush to sack managers too soon....and managers like Pardew tend to be at clubs that may suffer fear of relegation i.e. any club below top 6-8. But he is an experienced manager available mid-season. Not surprising that he keeps getting jobs.
