This. American sport is completely different - all franchises with a play off system to determine the overall winner. That will never happen. The outrage from the Super League proposal would be tiny compared to the reaction to that.

Southgate, Van Nistelrooy interim for now, hopefully he does a Solskjaer and they give him the job full time
Can't think why that should be....Martin isn't on the BBC shortlist (not that that's conclusive), but McKenna is

Controversial opinion, but I think Martin would do quite well at United.
Yeah sorta agree. With better (much) players, I think his style could work well. Not sure he’s got the tactical awareness nor subs sorted but undoubtedly a young manager & learning.Controversial opinion, but I think Martin would do quite well at United.
A quote from Lace's snippets from the director's box Saturday. "There’s a real will to work with and develop RM who is still “learning and a young manager”. Players are all very committed RM and enjoy working with him." If SR and RM both understand the learning part which, as Pep said, can apply at any level of experience, then there's a glimmer of hope going forward.Yeah sorta agree. Yep read all of LTL’s comments with great interest. Some positives from PP&HK & some weirdness. Not surprising I suppose.A quote from Lace's snippets from the director's box Saturday. I felt a lot more positive having spoken to them. PP led the conversation - I got the feeling he was slightly concerned that HK was a bit more of a chatter and could let some things slip (I think he'd possibly had a couple of the v pleasant glasses of red). Remember there's quite a bit of stuff I haven't said, but largely I do think that they know what they want to do (although remember they're new to football ownership too, and are also learning). This issue is that it's a stick or twist position that has positives and negatives in both directions.
I know I'm going to be thought of a strange here, but my inclination would be to stick with Russell right now.
It is the worst of all worlds. You have to decide for yourself!I'm confused. Are we Russell in or out now![]()
Appreciate there's a limit to what you can say but did you get any idea (either direct or indirect) of their position on our style of play? I'd got the impression from interviews that the club ownership is fully committed to the possession-based style. If that's the case and getting rid of Martin would mean hiring another manager who plays a very similar way then I tend to agree we may as well stick with him.I felt a lot more positive having spoken to them. For what it's worth, if they are committed to playing this way I think that's possibly a big problem because I doubt this style of play is ever going to work for a club coming up from the Championship.
If we sack Russel, Ten Hag is available......
