It’s refreshing in that they are a different team. But they are just another club with mega rich owners that have spent hundreds of millions to get there. Unai Emery has done well to turn them into a team though that’s for sure as they were massively underperforming before.
Yep, but that's the PL. Two thirds of the league have done the same. If you look at the BBC pundits season's predictions they are dominated by Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool for the top four. For me Villa finishing in the top four is like two fingers up at those clubs (and media) who feel they have a divine right to finish there.
In a series of fantastically stupid decisions by that club, that's up there with the most stupid ever. He deserves better than that lot. Hope they sink.
I’m a bit surprised by that, although Telegraph saying it was a mutual decision after their end of season review meetings at the start of this week.
Brighton seems a good fit for him Or West Ham if he wants to stay in London, not sure if they have a new manager yet
Seems a bit weird timing that. Was clearly struggling for a while but was just looking like he had turned them round and had them playing in his style. Very odd.
My Ipswich mate worried now, said no chance McKenna would leave for Brighton or Man U but thinks he might for Chelsea
Chelsea innit. He'd finally got to grips with their mad recruitment and having a team consisting almost exclusively of injured children... I would guess he also heard that they were going to be mental with recruitment in the summer too and was happy to get out of the madhouse.
Yeah just thought it was funny his take on it. If any of Brighton, Man U or Chelsea actually wanted McKenna I’m sure he would go.
Madness from Chelsea, but probably sanity from Poch. He needed them to let him lead on transfers and obviously that they could not agree on.
Think he’s in that deluded stage a lot of our fans probably were in when they thought our players would stay loyal He laughed his head off that he would even consider Brighton, said Utd would only be because of his previous connections there, but thinks Chelsea would be perfect for him with the amount of young talent there
Yeah something like that. I’ve long thought managers should jump ship more often if they have a great season in a lower league. Usually their stock will never be higher. No idea behind the scenes if teams actually do rate them as highly as the media portray though
