There was a big rumour he was approached by Ashley for the Newcastle job after losing a fair bit at a club owned by him. All tittle tattle I'm sure. But bloody hell Pards is king of the payoffs allright.
Big Sam with Christian Benteke, Selhurst Park and the home crowd there could be a formidable mix. Going to be a tough, tough place to go.
I have to accept that there are a lot of people who know one hell of a lot more than I do about the ins and outs of SFC and other clubs. However, I will always think of Alan Pardew as the manager who started the process of restoring pride in Southampton FC; the one who not only signed Rickie but convinced him of his potential and ultimately took the first step on the journey to where we are today. I for one do not rejoice in his misfortune. I have the feeling I am in a minority of one, but hey. Good luck, Mr P.
I was worried when Pardew left....but to be honest I worry about just about every change made at Saints. Thankfully the Saints board usually prove they are on the ball. My New Year wish is for a period of stability....a nice successful season, followed by a good off-season with a touch of fire-walking or similar and a new season where we have kept all the personnel that we wanted to keep. Not too much to ask for surely.
I acknowledge that Pardew did a pretty decent job here but I still think he's a giant arse and undoubtedly one of the biggest knobs in football. Not sympathetic about his latest sacking, nor do I particularly wish him good luck or bad will.
Said earlier can definitely see a top 10 finish if he goes there. Got a decent squad already and also very much a 'Sam' squad. Sums up my feelings on him. Grateful for his job here. Think he's a bit of a twat but neither like nor dislike him really.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...-have-kindest-christmas-schedule-others-will/ Article about the tough Xmas schedule. Guess who has the worst....go on, have a go. 1st clue....they wear red and white stripes and aren't Stoke.
I don't know the man, of course. If I've got you right, you do. As you are a poster I respect, I'll take your word for it. Doesn't change my view. I wish very few people ill. OK, push comes to shove, I would have found it hard to feel sorry for Thatcher when she left office. Pardew's list of offences against humanity are in a lesser league, and he did leave a decent legacy for Nigel Adkins. Merry Xmas, DTLW
