Who knows, maybe we will attract a decent owner at some point rather than the horde of asset strippers that have been linked so far.

Saints are up for a cheaper price than Newcastle and someone worthwhile may decide we are worth a punt as the world reopens, lets just hope we don't get funded with blood money like the Geordies are about to be.

With a Saudi owner there is always the risk that state sanctions could come into play at some point, although I recognize they are one of this countries 'allies' for now.
We will never put meaningful state sanctions on the Saudis. We sell them too many weapons

I wish I had your optimism. Newcastle have a bigger stadium that they fill (and easily will if they get more success). Bound to attract more offers than us - and look at how hard it has been for them to get taken over

Yes, Newcastle really are a sleeping giant and there are a few clubs that are a more attractive prospect than us for a big takeover.

Don’t they have a limit as to fees and wages due to FFP? I thought you could only increase your wage bill by a certain amount each year

So unless they are 350-500k per week below their current cap (not impossible I guess) they technically can’t sign him

That said - we aren’t exactly talking about a guy who plays by the rules here

Mbappe isn't gonna sign for Newcastle lol.
Yeah no chance. Man City didn't instantly sign the best players after they got taken over and Newcastle need to establish themselves as a CL club before the best players sign for them. I'm sure they will throw money at a new manager and some very good signings. The signings they can attract at the moment are probably players like Rice, Neto, Traore, to name a few.
