Maybe, but the offensive spray pass from Lambert (the Southampton Saints Offender) splitting the two back-siders from the Fulham cottagers, left Jay Lotsagoals Rodriguez in the left side end zone and the chance to advance horizontally toward the opponents 10.3 metre box, before exploding an instep curler past the goal-minder into the top corner of the end net.

That took effort, but I appreciate it. :)

Yeah, I did think that Rickie's 60 yard pass was sublime, and Jay's measured clip into the top-right hand corner of the goal was superb, but I am a sucker for fast paced play ending in precision finishing. Especially if the goal scorer is Rickie [so there's a bit of bias there].

In the light of reflection I'll make them equal first, but there were so many brilliant quick things about that second goal. The quick turn and perfect flick of the ball from Davis right into Clyne's stride, who was confident of the return before making a precision cross, and then Jay's dummy, to Rickie's super finish, all done like clockwork. It was like a well oiled machine in high gear and it was superb football. Fulham were just chasing shadows.

If I had seen none of the goals and someone had showed me the second one and then said there was a better one to come I would have questioned it.

Im not amazed. I am actually one of the minority that thought it was justified. Chico made a meal of it, and if it were possible I would have him punished as well, but the intent was clearly there by Carroll.

This. He did swing for him, though how much he wanted to hurt him I'm not sure. Was more like a hissy fit. I think a yellow for Carroll and a yellow for Chico would have been appropriate to be honest.

I didn't think it was the correct decision (although to be fair I only watched it once in passing), but not at all surprised they didn't overturn it after the Remy one.

Carroll showed intent...not only in the movement of his arm but in his action when he clipped Chico's head. If you accidently hit someone, your natural instinct would be to look back to see what you had done...he carried on looking straight ahead.

I think he could be in trouble with his comments. He could have said I'm disappointed and nothing would have been said...but to tweet that it was disgraceful is to criticise the decision. Think he will get his hand rapped for that.

Laudrup sacked by Swansea

Seems that they promised backing that never really materialized, and Laudrup consequently lost the desire to be there...their board suggests that he skipped crisis talks in the last couple days.

Laudrup indicated at the beginning of the season that he was honouring his contract...whilst that is honourable, it hardly suggests commitment. Things aren't going well but tbf things aren't going well for about half the EPL teams.

Laudrup has never fully convinced me for one reason or another.

Seems a bit hot and cold in his career, a flash in the pan.

They were great at the start of last season but became progressively worse.

33 points from last 35 games is not good enough.

Now of course we can only judge the decision on what follows.
