Poyet on MOTD starting to lose patience with his players. He's saying that he's been trying to drum the basics into his players every day and they haven't been good enough.

De Canio message, in another style.

Fulham up 2-0 over Villa. We should've given them more possession; they don't appear to like having the ball for five or more seconds at a time.

I'm pleased Fulham are winning against Villa, purely for the fact that Paul Lambert suggested Villa deserved to beat us on Wednesday.

Indeed. He said that his were the better team. 78% v 22% possession suggests not. If he had said they were more clinical I would agreed with him absolutely. 3 goals from 3 on-target shots doesn't just suggest it, it shouts it from the rooftops.

I have a lot of time for Paul Lambert, so I'll cut him some slack for being loose with his words.

Why couldn't they have played like this against us!? They can barely string two passes together today!

Not sure they often strung more then two passes together against us either. It was just punted down the middle of the park whenever we lost/they won the ball in and around their penalty area.

Benteke looks like he can't be arsed.

Could be injuries; hurt his knee earlier and has an ongoing issue with his hip, and both could be real problems for someone who plays such an athletic game.

I certainly wouldn't turn down a (more modest than it would have been last year) transfer for him.

I've never really thought much of Benteke. He got hyped up strangely prematurely.

Don't know really. If Saints were to be seeking out a big strong Rickie Lambert replacement then I would be looking at Romelu Lukaku before anyone else. However, I understand that the modern idea is for strong, fast and small strikers, hence why Suarez and Aguero are so effective.

To hype up some of our players prematurely, they'd still be in kindergarten.

We should probably get scouts out to all the local primary schools to watch the kids have a kick about at lunch. They'd probably get the police called on them a few times, but needs must.

Lukaku is funny. He kind of reminds me of a striking Victor in that he's all about physicality (and in his case pace) but I never feel completely convinced he's entirely in control of the ball.

I'd snap him up in a flash though.

I'm hardly ever convinced many players are entirely in control of the ball at any single point, but I know what you mean. :)

There are obvious exceptions, Adam Lallana for example. He sometimes has the ball glued to his feet, but sometimes he's loose as well.
