To be honest, I wouldn't call it a bad decision. It was a call that could have gone either way. As benefit should have gone to the attacker, he shouldn't have given it offside but it was so tight I'm calling that a bad decision.

Everyone gets what you're saying here Tom......but it was the wrong decision. Therefore it was a bad decision.

Personally, I think there's a difference. IMO, a bad decision is a call that is blatantly wrong, like giving offside when the attacker is behind the last defender or not giving offside when the forward is a yard ahead of the defence.

No sure, I get that. And of course human beings are liable to human error. Let's just hope it all evens out - after all that's two wrong/bad/mistaken call them what you will decisions in 2 games.

I think I'd better stick to this thread. The debate on here is much more polite than the one on the match thread! <laugh>

I just can't justify calling an incorrect decision anything other than a bad decision. We should be able to expect the highest standards from Premier League refs, and while mistakes are going to be made, that doesn't mean they should be ignored - Premier League strikers are going to miss sitters, but they still get and deserve derision when it happens.

It's not offside. Not by any stretch of human perception. Literally none of the player is offside when the ball is played. The benefit of the doubt goes to the striker, even though it was not needed because there was no way he was offside.

So basically, it was a proper dog ****e decision, one a linesman deemed suited to the "BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD" should be able to make with consummate ease. But instead, he ****ed it up. It's a **** decision, human error or not. You wouldn't let a Premier League striker missing a one-on-one with an empty net off the hook because it's "human" to make mistakes - you'd rightly slate him for a **** mistake.

I think we're all in agreement the officials were overall somewhere in the Blue Square league of ability today.

Never mind, it was a game that 9 times out of 10 we'd win. We've improved on the results against these two teams from last year. We have a barking mad new striker that will give us a lot to talk about over the season. It's all good.

He's got 0 points so far, so if that form was extrapolated for the rest of the season they'd surely be relegated with a record-low level of points. Fair enough in my opinion that he's facing the boot.

I heard Mauricio's been sacked and Ian's been lined up as a replacement. He's bringing in 15 former Blackpool players apparently as well. Osvaldo to be sold immediately for the benefit of Holloway's safety.

David Salas to remain as official club interpreter for Ian Holloway, and he'll also use him as a model for his new Photography project "The resurrection of Dobby".

Holloway is expected to be announced 9am tomorrow via a press conference, where he will say "Premier League we are bl**dy having a laugh I tell you that, linesman and referees are in the Illuminati with that Selena Gomez girl and 2 direction."

It's like the Brian McDermott situation. Their players are relegation candidates, not many managers would be able to keep them up based on the players they had. What do they expect? Even if Holloway is a nob, he's a good manager and is good at getting teams promoted and playing attractive and attacking football.

You need to learn the rules. We had this problem a while ago with the handball rule. You didn't know that one either. The fifa rules say that if the assistant referee is not totally sure about an offside offence, the flag should not be raised. The sooner you get that into your head the better.

Ridiculous if true...what did they expect in the PL? Have to give him time...even though he annoys me right down to my toe nails.
