Proud to be a European today.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who met Trump earlier this week, says: "There is an aggressor: Russia. There is a victim: Ukraine. We were right to help Ukraine and sanction Russia three years ago—and to keep doing so"

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also writes in a post on X that "nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians do", before adding that "Ukraine can rely on Germany – and on Europe"

President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has said: "You are never alone, dear president. We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace"
Wonder how they will feel if they are asked for the money to pay for the war

  • The US will pause military aid to Ukraine, a White House official has confirmed to BBC's US partner CBS News

  • The official says "we are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution"

  • Earlier, Trump criticises Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for saying the end of the war with Russia is "very, very far away"

Trump gone all out in his vendetta against Zelensky...the man certainly can hold a grudge

Am I being conscripted then? I’ve got a very dull all-day meeting tomorrow I’ll not turn up for if I’m going to be but hopefully they’ll let me watch the West Brom game.

The utterly disgusting JD Vance has now insulted the memories of British troops who died in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting alongside US soldiers....

“If you want real security guarantees, if you want to actually ensure that Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the vey best security guarantee is to give Americans economic upside in the future of Ukraine,” Mr Vance told Fox News.

“That is a way better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that has not fought a war in 30 or 40 years.”

The only time NATO's Article 5 has been invoked was by the USA after 9/11 and who answered this call? Amongst others, the UK did, Mr. Vance - will you say thank you?

The crack epidemic in the US must be affecting the politicians now! WTF <yikes>

US President Donald Trump is set to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize due to his peace efforts in the Middle East, according to US Representative Darrell Issa and The Hill.

“Today I will nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” Issa wrote. “No one deserves it more.”

Issa did not specify in his post why he was nominating the president - in a subsequent statement, however, Issa’s spokesperson pointed to Trump’s peace efforts in the Middle East.

“Congressman Issa recently led a Codel to four Middle East nations – he observed first-hand and from several heads of state that the spirit of peace and moving away from conflict is real and multilateral,” Jonathan Wilcox, Issa’s deputy chief of staff and communications director, stated.

  • US officials have confirmed that President Trump has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine on top of the pause in military assistance

  • "We have taken a step back, and are pausing and reviewing all aspects of this relationship," National Security Adviser Mike Waltz says

  • The move follows Friday's fiery Oval Office meeting between the US president and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky

  • The Ukrainian president has since taken steps to repair relations, and Waltz has said that Trump would be open to lifting the freeze if peace talks progress

  • However, the decision to halt intelligence support is likely to have serious consequences on the battlefield
