Just thought ….why are they closing the M25 when you’ve got these people on top of the gantries ? I mean, that ain’t gonna jump and they ain’t gonna throw anything down on traffic…..they just seem to want to sit there.
So why not leave them up there and ignore them ?

Risk assessment and risk management. We assume that they aren’t either suicidal or homicidal, but they could be one or both and the authorities have to make the judgement on what is an acceptable risk. Apparently in this case the risk is assessed to be so high as to inconvenience (at best) or materially harm (at worst) potentially millions of other humans by closing the road.

I think the protesters should shoulder the risk to themselves without any attempt to keep them safe from the rest of us. But I wouldn’t like the responsibility of deciding about public safety. These twats could create a danger without even meaning to. I hate ****ing monomaniacs in any walk of life, these sad sacks are an example of the breed at its most pathetic.

I'm sympathetic to the general cause of demanding action against man-made climate change and I admire anyone who feels strongly enough that they're prepared to go to jail for it. This may not be the best form of protest, but there's not much point in a protest that no one notices.
