I was born in London, I lived and worked in London. That is what I know. I barely know the West Midlands, do you? Nor do I know Manchester where there's a Labour mayor.

You're keen to point out that violent crime in London is predominately black on black, though - which I wouldn't dispute, but I'd prefer to describe it as gang member on gang member. The same sort of crime is going on in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham but no one describes it as white on white or suggests that it would be ok to stop and search random white people for no good reason.
You added this bit after I replied. Yes, there is an underclass in London, just as there is in other major cities of the UK. It's a poverty and exclusion issue, not a race one.

It's like for like with white suspects, unless you feel that four times as many black suspects are found not-guilty than white suspects.

Yes, of course we should address the problem of violent crime, but I don't believe it's a race issue. I'd say it means addressing the gang issue, which is mainly drug related. The drug gangs in Liverpool and Manchester (who also kill each other) are predominately white. It's related to poverty and exclusion, not race.
