If someone posted something similar about ‘they/them’ do you think they would would be incandescently offended?

This kind of crap just ensures the whole dialogue stays in the gutter. I don’t think much of Truss, but I think a lot less of ‘Fancy Brenda’ and people like them who actually spend their lives broadcasting their poisonous, destructive prejudice to all and sundry. Same as the ****ers who devoted their lives to trolling Abbott.

I know how much you lot hate Thatcher (and just about every other Tory), but Truss really isn't in the same stratosphere as a politician.

I really don’t hate every Tory but from what I can see Truss is yet another gimmick politician, little to no substance but wears an outfit that she’s copied from Thatcher. I despise when these people that try reducing politics to the levels that Johnson and co have.

Corruption like we’ve never come close to before, they’ve lied their way through the last few years including to the queen, parliament and most importantly the public they claim to serve, arseholes like Mogg have made personal millions from Tory policy whilst the number of food banks has sky rocketed. Yes there have been other factors to be taken into consideration as to the state the nation but to use that to completely absorb the government from blame is just ludicrous.. yet that’s pretty much what’s happened.. they’re now burning the ppe they gave contracts to their mates to provide and people don’t care, Truss was part of the problem, part of the reason this was able to continue to happen.

Not to worry she’ll come up with a populist policy that won’t benefit the people but will have people look the other way, the press will help by giving the public more groups/people to blame. Who’d of thought 10 years ago, even 5 years ago that would have included the NHS, teachers, the RLNI, rail workers, the national trust, the England football team.. to name a few but here we are!

From how Truss has portrayed herself there really isn’t anything to suggest there will be any change from that.

Who is they/them? Are they putting themselves up for the highest place in public office? What exactly have they been saying and doing and saying?

The rest though, fair comment.

They/them are the pronouns by which ‘Fancy Brenda’ wishes to be referred, and I was respecting their wishes. Which is different from respecting them.

Nice rant, but completely ignored the post I made to which you were replying.
I wasn't praising Truss, in fact I said I don't like her.
I just don't see any comparison with Thatcher.

There isn't a leader in the world that's up to much now. The rewards of the private sector are far greater now than 30 years ago. When a newly qualified solicitor in the UK can earn twice as much as an MP, a banker or captain of industry can earn 20 or 40 times per annum than the prime minister, why would any bright and enterprising graduate opt for politics with the continual scrutiny of their private lives?
