the program showed how they both had trod the path of true dictators, and got rid of their military advisers, and got in "yes" men who were not capable. It resulted in military disasters and so took over the army themselves. With pretty disastrous effects. I turned over and then was confronted with Putins "press conference" where he listened to his "advisers" who said what he wanted to hear. It was just like the program about Hitler and Stalin...oh dear!

I didn’t see it, but know Hitler wanted Stalingrad principally because it bore Uncle Joe’s name and so became an ego-driven folly. The German army (was it the 9th?***) was originally tasked with capturing the rich oilfields further south, which were critical for the war effort, but Adolf had them diverted.

For similar egotistical reasons, Stalin wanted every man, woman & child to fight to the death rather than lose the city.

That's essentially what the program said.
Paulus who commanded the 6th Army, was promoted above his ability, he had never lead in the field. As Stalingrad was being lost he was promoted to Field Marshall and told no German Field Marshall had ever surrender, and so was expected to commit suicide. He surrendered.

Yes again you are right Uber...it was a vanity project for both...due to it being called Stalingrad!!

I’d quite like it if the £1.5bn worth of property in the U.K. known to be owned by associates of Putin (there will be many billions worth more owned through shell companies) was opened up to squatters.

Poverty will rise considerably, crime will be the knock on effect. Its not ****ing rocket science. What a complete shambles. These liars like Mogg and co should really be held accountable for spreading lies.
