Rayner's "scum" allegation was highly relevant because the voting public do not want their politicians descending into street language and attitude (Rayner has form - she has called Tories scum in the House of Commons before now). There needs to a degree of civility among members of the various parties, because at times, politicians have to work together for the sake of the country, and it makes it impossible if the Deputy Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition, thinks and says that all members of the government are scum.

point in case. Thanks for proving my point,

It's negative, Stainsey. If she singled out an individual that had misbehaved, perhaps. But the whole government? It's moving into Third World stuff. We'd have fisticuffs in front of the Speaker if it continued. There have always been rotters in Parliament, but maintaining decorum has always served the institution as a whole well.

Have you not seen PMQs recently mate ? The whole lot are like a bunch of school kids in primary school. Decorum really ain’t a word I’d use for any of them

It's been like that through history. But the Speaker is there to ensure it doesn't become like the football terraces of the 1970's and 80's.

Not at all it’s just there’s no point, there have been hundreds of voxpop videos, thousands of xenophobic comments all over social media. To deny that, well there’s no point even discussing it.

Most probably school kids in their bedrooms, occupying time before their mum calls them down for tea. If the country was xenophobic, there'd be support for a xenophobic party. There just isn't.

But it is…in fact it’s worse as these ****s are paid thousands to have the privilege to do so

But as I say, nothing's changed. Do you remember when Michael Heseltine picked up the mace? He was quite rightly reprimanded. There's a line that can't be crossed, and calling members of another party scum crosses it.

She didn’t do it in the house though, or so I thought. I thought it was at the Labour conference ?

Ahhh so we’re not allowed to mention a major benefit of coming out of the EU.
Right oh….

Was thinking more of politicians than us plebs but it’s not really a benefit at all if real wages don’t rise which given the government is making it up as it goes along I don’t think is likely.

Workers in some sectors will benefit in the short-term from labour shortages, but the concomitant price inflation will soon wipe out their wage increases. Meanwhile, low-paid workers in the public sector and families on benefits will see only price increases with no mitigating increase to their income.

See my earlier answer to Bracknell. Now is the time to take the opportunity to take the country back from the Tories

Fair enough. However I would suggest the actions of the Tory party are far worse than names. But that’s just me

Blair starting a war in Iraq was worse, but any MP calling him scum would have been censored, in the House by the Speaker, outside it, hopefully by his or her Party Leader.
