To back up a previous post I made against freedom of movement and how it gave unscrupulous bosses ‘carte blanche’ to offer poor wages to everyone….just came off the phone to a mate who after leaving BA with me and trained to be an HGV driver….says that wages for jobs he is now being offered have risen by as much as 30% and, quiet rightly in my opinion, now feels he being given fair pay for what he has trained for.
He also says there are now many blokes training to get their licences due to this fact and the schools can’t get them trained up quick enough.
So it’s not all bad, eh ?

Brother in law has left the police service to take up truck driving. Got all his necessary licences and is earning more now without any stress.

Absolutely mate......just makes me think my thoughts on free movement of Labour is in fact correct......and if it’s leading to a fair wage then I can’t see the problem.
If it means my kids don’t get the opportunity to clean some rich pricks chalet in Switzerland for minimum wage and be treated like ****...then I’m willing to take that on the chin.

Is that why half the world is burning and the other half is drowning, then? What's your (or Lance Thorman's) theory on that?

Couldn't give a ****?

Not taking one side or the other Strolls, ‘cos it really isn’t high in my agenda and As it won’t really effect me, I’m not that arsed….but isn’t it true that we’ve always had extreme weather conditions in the world since records began ?
Just seems to me a lot of people, sit on a lot of committees and make a lot of money out of climate change reports and investigations.

ANTALYA, Turkey

A court in southern Turkey on Tuesday ordered that a suspect arrested over destructive forest fires be remanded in custody.

The 16-year-old was arrested last Friday over fires that broke out in Manavgat, Antalya last Wednesday and which damaged two buildings, a warehouse, and forestland before being contained the same day.

The court ordered the suspect remanded on charges of deliberately setting fire to a forest.

Turkish officials have voiced suspicions that arson may be responsible for at least some of the fires that began last week within a relatively short period.

Meanwhile, efforts continue to contain forest fires in various parts of Manavgat and other places in Turkey.

It's not likely to affect me either, but I am concerned about how it might affect my children and grandchildren. Aren't you?

The people that make the most money out of this are those that lobby on behalf of the multinational polluters, telling you that it's a lot of fuss about nothing.
