Sorry Strolls but it’s you that’s got arseways. The EU and free movement was always about exploitation of workers and to keep wages down…..sad that those on the Liberal Left are too blind to see it.

Do you remember the outrage from the Tories, the CBI and the right-wing media when the EU imposed the Working Time Directive and various Health and Safety Directives? Many of the benefits and protections that British workers currently enjoy would not have happened if we hadn't been in the EU.

Free movement is about people being allowed to travel and work freely throughout Europe. I'm outraged that my children will no longer be able to take advantage of it.

Sorry mate, will come back later as to why I disagree with you.

Are they still pretending its because of staff being pinged and not Brexit?
The headlines in some papers are ridiculous. Why are suddenly more people being 'pinged' by the app? Have they changed the app to ping more people? Or is it the same app that people used 6 months ago? The simple reason more are being pinged is the fact that more people are getting infected! And more people are getting infected due to little/no restrictions. But hey, lets blame the app for people self isolating, it makes for a safer headline over incompetence!

We may run out of Gammon but I can assure you we won't run out of Wokes or people who haven't got a scooby about Brexit and just talk utter bollox.

Thanks for that assurance mate. I dont think any will doubt you!
I don't care what people on here think. I know enough about Brexit (from all sides... plus a bit more) to know that we made the right decision to leave that mafia club. Every time I look at the news the EU are suing or wanting to punish someone. It's a dying s22t show. As I said, you can't get more European than Switzerland and look at what they are doing to them. it will be gone within 7-10 years.

Do you know as much as (lord) David Frost?

He negotiated and signed a deal that he and Johnson hailed as a triumph of British diplomacy, but he now says it's ****.

Ok Strolls…just wasted 2 hours of my life in a film that I never wanted to see, so here’s why I have my views on free movement.
I feel, rightly or wrongly, that free movement of labour is not only detrimental to the workers in this country but also detrimental to the countries of migrant workers, through any skilled labour leaving to work abroad, thus starving their country of a much needed skilled workforce.
Of course in the country where these workers, prepared to work for a far less wage and conditions, arrive in, wages are artificially brought downwards and ruthless employers are happy to exploit immigrant workers for profit.
You only have to look at the construction industry, where average wages have recently risen substantially (sorry in Prezzos so can’t look up the source). This I feel will soon have to be replicated in other industries such as hospitality and haulage to entice people to take up these sort of jobs….something that has been surely lacking through poor pay….surely everyone deserves a decent wage for a decent days work ?
Of course the Conservatives will do anything possible to put down workers rights etc and that’s where the battle now lies…..through a stronger Trade Union and urging the younger generation to actually join a Union in the first place.
The EU really wasn’t a friend to the worker…however much the Neo-liberal elite like to tell us it was

Here’s a tradition that we should kick in the head - the convention that you get asked to leave the House of Commons if you accuse another MP of lying or being drunk. Why? If you can demonstrate that someone is lying or is pissed, then surely they should be the one in trouble?

Dawn Butler (never heard of her) got kicked out today for saying Johnson is a liar. Which he has been demonstrated time and time again to be.

To be fair, most MPs are liars of some sort….but of course when they lie they always say they were either misquoted of made an innocent mistake

It's Johnson that should be kicked out, for contempt of Parliament. The current Speaker is totally ineffectual in controlling Johnson in any way.

Dawn Butler had to withdraw for the remainder of the sitting! She needs to withdraw for the remainder of her political career as she's hopeless. She can take Hancock, Dodds and Ashworth with her.

He doesn't actually say that. He says it's not working and needs to be adjusted. To be fair to him, there is a clause in the agreement regarding problems and being flexible but sadly the EU are acting like they always do.
It's a shame you and a few others continuously knock this country and side with the EU. I get the anti-Tory stuff but you need to do a bit more reading into how the EU have been acting of late. Even from within the block old voices are raising concerns.

That sums up politics in our country. You can lie to parliment but cant accuse a person of lying. What a strange example to set society.

Actually there are a set of House rules and she broken them. She was asked on 3 occasions by the Speaker to retract her use of the word ‘liar’ but in typical Dawn Butler fashion, she went for the media headlines so people like you on social media can knock the government. She was wrong and was rightly removed from the House. If she is going to be an MP she needs to respect the rules and standards. As I said it’s typical Dawn Butler. Funny how no one mentions her dying support for Jezza and his nasty reign.
