Once again Bob you miss the point.
You don’t call an honourable member of Parliament a ‘lair’ in the House… especially not the PM. You don’t use that language. Starmer calls Boris a lair but never uses that word. She broke the House rule and that’s that.
Im not missing anything mate because i wouldnt class any liar as honourable.

Slightly before my time mate. I only started to take an interest in politics before the referendum. Prior, i was a standard 'Jack the lad' who thought they were all lying, self serving pompeous ****s. It was the loss of my daughter that first really got me interested when our local lib dem MP helped us through some tough times despite being a stranger. I realised, there are one or two decent politicians out there but unfortunately he lost his place in parliment after the snap election.

Could she have said ‘Dodgy’ ?
Bloody Yes. I can think of many parliamentary words she could have used. It’s typical Dawn Butler.
it’s like here, we have rules and we must respect them.
If someone called a poster a #### but spelt it out, they would get the boot. Especially after 3 warnings.
She was wrong to say that.

Ive got a great idea! Maybe parliment should bring in a rule/law where members including the untouchable PM are not allowed to lie or they can be removed from session. Now that would set a better example.

Your joking Boris would love that! He doesn’t like PMQs at the best of times.

I think you are confusing the issues here. Whether Boris is a liar or not. Dawn Butler shouldn’t have called him that in the House. She broke the rules and was rightly kicked.
Im not confusing anything mate, in my opinion the rules are draconian at best. In what society is a liar not allowed to be called a liar but honourable instead. Yes our society.

That’s the rules of the land and we know this. We are not some banana republic mate. The rules do and have changed over the years but wanting decency to be removed is not the way forward.
It’s funny the are so many historic rules and regulations that people abide and respect… but as soon as it’s against Boris those same people want the book thrown out the window.
It’s not really the way to go.

Oh Ellers stop being such a ‘holier than thou’ dick…..You’re one of the worse when it comes to over looking your Tory ‘friends’ discrepancies. I don’t hold it against you as it’s human nature but please

Staines I think you will find I have been very consistent regarding House rules and parliamentary behaviour.

Following Guido’s story yesterday, which showed what appeared to be the Labour Mayor of Crawley hurling punches at a taxi driver, the leader of Crawley’s Conservative group is now calling for a vote of no confidence in the Mayor and demanding ‘his immediate resignation‘:

Dear Mr Mayor, In line with the rules in the Council’s Constitution where any nine members of the Council can request an additional Full Council meeting, we formally request that you call an Extraordinary Full Council meeting in order to consider the following single item of business. This Council expresses No Confidence in the Mayor and seeks his immediate resignation.”

As of this morning, Mayor Shahzad Abbas Malik still hasn’t provided a comment on the bust-up. Sussex Police, meanwhile, are asking people not to speculate on the identities of the two men involved. Looks like the Council has already made up its mind…

Like i say, it comes down to standards and even morals. I dont believe in calling someone who lies, honourable nor would i support someone of such ilk. Everyone has different morals though.

I didn't think you were capable of self-irony Ellers, but that's top bombing.
